You’re talking to one of the most conflicted Pemzin/Linzin shipper here. lol.
Based on my observations, it doesn’t seem like Lin has children of her own. She seems like a “career” type of woman, like her mom. Imagine the shock I had to find out that Toph has a daughter xD If Tenzin chose Pema because Lin wasn’t fertile, I’d be very sad. But I do not think that’s the case why they broke up.
Tenzin and Lin were in a relationship, but they had to uphold their parent’s legacies. Tenzin is a councilman in Republic City, The only airbender in the world (After Aang died), and carry on all the Air Nomad teachings to the Air Acolytes. While Lin is the leader of Metalbending Cops, fighting crime all day and keeping Republic City safe. Tenzin may be a family person (who needs to repopulate his race btw) and Lin is a career woman, these two concepts contradict. As Tenzin said, they both had different goals in life and maybe because of those goals, they started to grow apart to the point they were not happy in the relationship anymore. Keep in mind, Tenzin has a deadline. Maybe he kept bringing up that they need to get married soon, but Lin just shoves the topic.I don’t know why some people are calling Pema a homewrecker, when Tenzin said she didn’t steal him. Maybe she came to Tenzin’s life when the relationship was failing (or has already failed) She could see that Tenzin wasn’t happy anymore. Tenzin may already have feelings for Pema, she’s different from Lin; more light, serene, and understanding compared to Lin. Here is someone who actually understands and takes pride of the Air Nomad teachings (She is a member of the Air Acolyte) and wanted kids, someone who he could share his life with. So the rest was history.
Somehow, it was all meant to be (for me at least lol) Look how much they love each other?
Not to mention, the cloudbabies are adorable! and a 4th one coming in the way (Tenzin is a sex god! XDDD) If Lin and Tenzin stayed together, their babies might not all be airbenders, or none at all. :( So we have Pema to thank? XD
Still, I really care about this ship (Darn you bryke) Perhaps if they were endgame, their children would be a mixture of Aang, Katara, and Toph’s genes in one child and it would be some sort of superhuman XDDD the awesomeness would be overflowing.
I’m really sad for Lin though, its as if she’s still bitter. I want her to be happy. Maybe with the time that their spending together right now, Lin can put the past behind her and repair their friendship. (I do wish she had kids, if she didn’t it means the Bei Fong line is dead)
